Nazik Armenakyan is a photojournalist based in Yerevan, Armenia. Since 2002, she has worked with Armenpress news agency, Yerevan Magazine, Forum, and ArmeniaNow.com. She has won several international awards and grants, such as the Grand Prix award, first place in the “People and Faces” category in the Karl Bulla International Photo Contest, a fellowship from the Magnum Foundation, and a Documentary Photography Production Grant from Open Society Foundations. She is the author of two photography books, Survivors and The Stamp of Loneliness. Armenakyan is a founding member of 4 Plus, a nonprofit women’s photography collective that aims to develop documentary photography in Armenia and empower women through photography.
