Majid Saeedi is an Iranian documentary photographer born and raised in Tehran. For the past two decades, he has photographed throughout the Middle East with a focus on the humanitarian aspect. He is the recipient of numerous awards such as the Photo Reporter (2015), FotoEvidence Book Award (2014), World Press Photo (2013), National Press Photographers Association (2013), R.F. Kennedy Award (2012), Lucie Award (2011), and the UNICEF Award (2010). Saeedi’s photographs have been published in major publications such as the Times, Der Spiegel, Life, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, and Time. FotoEvidence published his book Life in War, a portrait of Afghan people affected by decades of war, in 2014. Majid has been hailed the “Best Photographer in Iran” eight times.
