Alain Keler has reported on conflicts in Lebanon, Chechnya, Israel, Palestine, Iran, and El Salvador. After working for Sygma and Gamma, he co-founded Odyssey Pictures in 1989 and has been a member of Agence M.Y.O.P. since 2008. He photographed the discrimination against Roma in Europe, which became a comic strip by Emmanuel Guibert and Frédéric Lemercier: Des Nouvelles d’Alain (2011). He directed two documentaries: Parais: les Roms en Europe (2011) and The Last Journey (2014), which documents his mother’s story of convoy number 66 to Auschwitz. Keler has won numerous awards, including the Paris Match Award (1986), a World Press Photo award in the nature category, and the W. Eugene Smith Award (1997) for his work on minorities in the former Communist Bloc. In 2015, he published 1982: Journal d’Un Photographe. (Photo shot in China, 1987.
