Born and raised in Kobar, a small village near Ramallah, Palestine, Hareth Yousef lived an abnormal life under the illegal Israeli occupation that affected his perspective on the everyday activities of the people he meets. He obtained his first Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Sociology from Birzeit University in Palestine and soon after was introduced to the world of photography. As a recent graduate from Columbia College Chicago with his second degree in Photography, Hareth strives to share a realistic image of Middle Eastern culture - with a focus on Palestinians - to audiences around the world. His photography showcases the daily lives of Palestinians in the homeland and in the diaspora. (Photo shot in Nablus, Palestine, 2016. Photo sponsors: Guilford and Pam Leggett.)
